Under the motto “Measure your blood pressure accurately, control it and live longer” blood pressure checks, awareness activities, informative talks and recommendations will be carried out in different hospitals in the city, in adherence to World Hypertension Day – HTA -, a date that seeks to promote the necessary care to prevent this health problem.

It is estimated that high blood pressure affects almost 30% of the world population. Data from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) indicate that in Latin America and the Caribbean between 20% and 40% of adults suffer from this disease, which represents some 250 million people. And about 1.6 million Latin Americans die from these diseases.

In the city of Córdoba, there will be a series of activities planned by the Cardiology and Nursing services

*Cáceres Transit Hospital, They will carry out counseling sessions and measure blood pressure in the central hall of the institution. The proposal will run from Monday 16 to Tuesday 31 May, from 8:30 to 11:30.

*The Mercy Hospital will offer a similar activity today for those who are in the waiting room, as part of its healthy post.

*In Colonia Caroyatoday the Municipality will hold a Health and Sports Day, from 3 to 5 pm, in Guyon Park.

*In Fourth quarterthe different health centers will provide informative talks and check-ups.

*In the city of Malaga On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Blood pressure controls will be offered in the health centers of this locality.

*In Villa MariaToday, the “From the heart to the brain” Conference will take place in the city’s pedestrian street, in which counseling sessions will be held on healthy eating, diabetes and hypertension, smoking cessation, glucose and blood pressure measurement.
