Today, Governor Juan Schiaretti announced at a press conference, from the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium, that he signed the Letter of Intent for Córdoba to host the 2023 World Cup. During the event, the idol of the 1978 World Cup, Mario, was present Alberto Kempes; the president of the Córdoba Sports Agency, Héctor Campana; and the Vice Mayor of Córdoba, Daniel Passerini.

From the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium, the governor dedicated a few words to this great opportunity “We have all the conditions for Argentina to be one of the venues for the 2030 World Cup; It seems absolutely fair to me that when the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup is over, we can hold the World Cup between Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile, here in the region.”

He also listed the reasons why Córdoba is an excellent candidate for this majestic event “Córdoba has the number of tourist places and easy access to the airport; we are an air hub in the region, we have accessibility on the routes, we have the best stadium in the world and we have the best of everything: the hospitality of the people of Cordoba“.

He also added “As a provincial State, together with the municipal State, the business chambers and all the athletes, we are committed to taking the necessary measures and making the necessary investments; we are all going to work together so that Córdoba once again hosts of the Soccer World Cup”.

In addition, the governor praised the neighboring countries, saying that they have “adequate places and stadiums to organize a beautiful World Cup.”

The application for the 2030 Centenary World Cup will also be implemented by the national governments and soccer federations of Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

For his part, Vice Mayor Daniel Passerini announced “We have the best conditions for this to be successful and the best stadium in Argentina; Mario Alberto Kempes is the only one who knows how much a World Cup weighs and that endorsement is one of the fundamentals so that our stadium bears his name”.

“Córdoba is prepared for this challenge; we have all the characteristics that a city that can be a host must have and we support the enormous effort made by the provincial government to put this stadium in the best conditions“.
